London Court Limited – update for investors

We previously placed restrictions on London Court Limited to stop it from conducting regulated activities for either new clients or new investments.

We are issuing an update because we have become aware that investors holding Whisky Scotland bonds are being approached by persons who are claiming they are able to assist investors in recovering their investment.

This follows our previous update, to alert investors who bought certain bonds via the ‘My Investment Hub’ platform, who were being targeted by scammers, to the risk of fraud by recovery rooms.

Being alert to scams
Investors should remain alert to the possibility of fraud and should remain vigilant if unauthorised firms contact them offering to help get back investments for a fee.

We recommend investors review the information on our website, through ScamSmart, to help protect people from scams.

If you’ve lost money to a scam, report it to us and then contact Action Fraud.

Making a complaint
We are also aware that investors continue to be concerned about investments they have made through London Court Limited and the ‘My Investment Hub’ platform.

If you feel like you have been treated unfairly by a financial business, or if you are unhappy with a financial service, you have the right to complain.

If you are concerned about investments made through London Court Limited, please see our page on how to complain.

While complaining can feel daunting, our rules mean that firms must deal with your complaint fairly, consistently, and promptly. And if you are unhappy with their response, you can complain to the Financial Ombudsman Service.

Please note, you don’t need to use a Claims Management Company to make a claim, it’s free and simple to do it yourself. Find out more about making a claim yourself.

Investors who do not have records of their investments and certificates can consider seeking copies of these either from London Court Limited or the bond issuers.

Investors are advised to keep records of their communications with London Court Limited or any other parties in relation to their investment.
